Halo: Campaign Evolved
• Release Date: July 28, 2026
• Platforms: PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5
• Developer: Halo Studios
• Genre: FPS
• Modes: Single-player, local co-op, online co-op for up to 4 players, cross-play
Not every legend needs a remake. In the case of Halo: Combat Evolved, however, the developers at Halo Studios found plenty of reasons to revisit this iconic game, which has already seen its heyday. Halo: Campaign Evolved isn’t just a graphically enhanced version of Master Chief’s original adventure... It’s a complete remake! It’s been reimagined to meet the demands of modern hardware and the goal was certainly to preserve the atmosphere and iconic moments of the original. But here is the thing: the developers also introduced something new. Specifically, they expanded the game with new missions, more modern gameplay, and controls suited for the year 2026. On top of that, they’ve added a wealth of content that wasn’t in the original game.
A Host of New Features Built on a Proven Foundation
The story remains faithful to the events of the first Halo. We have Master Chief and Cortana, who, after making an emergency landing on the Halo ring, fight against Covenant forces. As always, the fate of the entire galaxy hangs in the balance. These are all familiar facts. What’s new, however, are three prequel missions set before the start of the original campaign, in which Sgt. Avery Johnson takes center stage. These chapters are designed to expand the series’ lore and offer a new perspective on the events that preceded one of the most famous sci-fi campaigns in the gaming world.
The developers didn’t stop at just the graphics. Halo: Campaign Evolved features new weapons from later installments in the series, revamped vehicles, expanded co-op options, and the largest number of Skulls in the history of Halo campaigns. Some of them significantly change the rules of the game, while others add new ways to play or even unlock a third-person perspective (marking the first time in history that players can experience this legendary campaign from a viewpoint other than first-person)

In terms of difficulty, players will be given a completely new level of freedom never before seen in the series. They’ll be able to customize the difficulty level at which they play, while the co-op mode dynamically adjusts to the number of players, modifying enemy behavior and their numbers on the battlefield. There will also be a Campaign Remix mode, which will thoroughly shake up familiar events and situations and add additional challenges for series veterans.
The main draw, of course, is the project’s multiplayer and co-op aspects. Halo: Campaign Evolved supports online co-op for up to four players across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation with full cross-play and shared progress. It also includes local split-screen for two players on consoles, a feature that fans of the series have associated with Halo for more than two decades. The developers have also confirmed that this is not a live-service title. There are no plans for regular seasons, story-driven DLC, or other major expansions after release. The game is intended to be a complete experience right from launch.
PRE-PURCHASE BONUSES:
Players who pre-purchase the Standard Edition of Halo: Campaign Evolved will receive exclusive cosmetic bonuses, including the classic 2001 Mark V armor skin, an Assault Rifle skin, and premium Gilded Onyx styles for both armor and weapons.
Owners of the Premium Edition will also receive the game itself, the Alpha Halo Armory Pack featuring five Master Chief armor skins and six weapon skins, the digital artbook Art of Halo: Campaign Evolved, the short story Halo: Hungry Buzzards, a digital game manual, and the opportunity to start playing up to five days early, starting July 23, 2026. Of course, all bonuses available with a standard pre-purchase are also included.

Fun Facts About the Game Halo: Campaign Evolved
- Each of the thirteen missions hides a trio of Skulls that cannot be activated from the start. Players will have to discover them as they play, which adds another reason to thoroughly explore the environment and revisit levels they’ve already completed.
- Everyone on the team will be able to individually customize their own difficulty settings. For example, they can separately adjust damage resistance, shield regeneration speed, and ammunition capacity. This allows experienced veterans to play on a higher difficulty level, while newcomers can enjoy the campaign at a more relaxed pace.
- The developers have decided to omit both Photo Mode and Theater Mode, which is a rather unusual decision these days. Instead, they recommend using special Skulls that remove the HUD and allow for free camera movement, providing an alternative for screenshot and video creators.
- The legendary Mark IV armor will not be available during the main campaign. Players will only obtain it in three new prequel missions that expand the story prior to the events of the original Halo: Combat Evolved.
- One of the most famous tricks from the original Halo is also making a comeback. The ability to quickly reload weapons stowed on your back—which once originated as an unintended glitch—is now an official mechanic in the form of the Stowed Reload Skull.
- LASO mode will not include all available Skulls at once. The developers are preparing a specially selected combination of modifiers designed to maintain extreme difficulty without letting frustration outweigh the fun.
- The three new prequel missions will not be locked behind campaign progress. You’ll be able to play them immediately after launching the game for the first time, although the developers recommend that new players complete the original story first and then dive into the expanded content.
Who Will Enjoy This Game: Fans of sci-fi shooters, Halo series veterans, and new players who want to experience one of the most legendary campaigns in gaming history with a modern twist.
Who This Game Might Not Be For: Players looking for an open world, endless live service content, or competitive online play as the game’s main focus.
Minecraft Dungeons II
• Release Date: September 29, 2026
• Platforms: PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2
• Developers: Mojang Studios, Double Eleven
• Genre: Action RPG / Dungeon Crawler
• Modes: Single-player, co-op
Of all the Minecraft spin-offs, Minecraft Dungeons has proven to be the most successful. This simple yet addictive action RPG, inspired by the Diablo series, has won over millions of players thanks mainly to its accessible gameplay and excellent co-op mode. Minecraft Dungeons II therefore builds on and expands everything that worked so well in the first game. The developers promise a larger world, more character customization options, new locations, and a more expansive adventure that aims to feel more ambitious than its predecessor.
Minecraft Dungeons II: Story, Gameplay & All New Features
The story takes place several years after the defeat of the Arch-Illager, when the world of Minecraft once again faces a new threat that is gradually spreading chaos across the various biomes. Players will therefore venture into previously unexplored areas, where new types of enemies, more challenging battles, and secrets hidden in various corners of the Overworld await them. The developers are also highlighting the greater variety of environments, which goes hand in hand with exploration. This will be much more prominent in the game than in the previous installment.
However, the core gameplay remains true to the tried-and-true formula. Once again, it will be a top-down action RPG in which players will collect gear, upgrade their character, and create their own builds based on their preferred combat style. Artifacts, talismans, and legendary items are expected to play a greater role, expanding the possibilities for combining abilities. The developers have also confirmed more challenging battles and a greater emphasis on cooperation between players, which should further highlight the cooperative nature of the entire game.

Fun Facts About the Game Minecraft Dungeons II
- Minecraft Dungeons II significantly expands on the co-op gameplay, which was one of the strongest aspects of the first game. While the entire adventure can be played solo, the developers have designed it from the start to shine brightest when played in pairs or groups of four, both online and on a single screen.
- Compared to the original game, players can expect a significantly larger world with new biomes and locations. The developers want exploration to play a bigger role than before, with each area hiding more secrets, unique gear, and optional content.
- The character creation system has been significantly expanded. In addition to weapons and armor, new artifacts, talismans, and other types of legendary gear will be added, allowing players to create more diverse builds and experiment with different playstyles.
- Minecraft Dungeons II is launching simultaneously on all major platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. It will also be available on Game Pass from day one, making it one of the biggest multiplayer releases of fall 2026.
Who Will Enjoy This Game: Fans of action RPGs, Minecraft, and players looking for fun co-op gameplay for the family or a group of friends without overly complicated mechanics.
Who This Game Might Not Be For: Hardcore RPG veterans expecting an extremely complex loot system, deep character builds, and a dark atmosphere in the style of Diablo IV or Path of Exile.
Gears of War: E-Day
• Release Date: October 6, 2026
• Platforms: PC, Xbox Series X/S, Game Pass
• Developers: The Coalition, People Can Fly
• Genre: Action TPS
• Modes: Single-player, co-op, multiplayer
Instead of the expected continuation of the story from Gears 5, the series returns to the very beginning with a newly announced prequel. Gears of War: E-Day recounts the events of the legendary Emergence Day—the day the planet Sera first came under attack by the Locusts. This is a moment that fans of the series have heard about for years but never had the chance to experience firsthand. That’s precisely why E-Day ranks among the most important games in the franchise’s history. The developers are also bringing back Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago, the duo that defined the original trilogy and remain among Xbox’s most beloved characters to this day.
Unlike the newer installments, E-Day doesn’t feel like an attempt at grand experimentation; instead, The Coalition is consciously returning to the series’ roots. They’re building on intense firefights, a cover system, and a linear campaign that bids farewell to semi-open locations. You might be wondering what will happen next in the story. Well, that takes place in the city of Kalona during the first days of the invasion, when no one has any idea what’s actually happening or where this new enemy came from. The atmosphere is therefore much darker and, at times, feels more like a horror movie than a traditional war game. The developers themselves admit that they’ve reworked the Locusts to make them seem more terrifying and unpredictable than in previous games.
The game’s technology is also a major selling point. E-Day is being developed entirely in Unreal Engine 5, and according to The Coalition, it is their most ambitious project to date. Players can look forward to significantly more detailed environments, more advanced destruction, a revamped gore system, and new movement options during combat.

There will be smoother transitions between cover. More verticality. And also more dynamic combat arenas, all designed to bring the classic Gears of War gameplay into the modern era without losing its identity. E-Day stays true to the philosophy of the original Gears of War games: a focused campaign, strong characters, and constant pressure from the enemy. At the same time, it serves as an ideal entry point for new players, as it tells the very beginning of the conflict and requires no prior knowledge of the previous games.

Fun Facts About the Game Gears of War: E-Day
- According to the developers, Gears of War: E-Day will feature the longest story campaign in the series’ history, and is expected to exceed 14 hours. Players will be able to play through the entire story not only solo, but also in local split-screen co-op or online with up to four players.
- After years, we’ll finally see a significant expansion of movement options. Marcus and Dom will be able to jump, climb over obstacles, and interact with the environment in a more dynamic way than in previous games.
- Technical experts at Digital Foundry have identified E-Day as one of the games that could fully showcase the potential of Unreal Engine 5 (The developers at The Coalition are among the most experienced Unreal Engine experts in the entire gaming industry). They particularly highlight the combination of vast environments, a high level of detail, modern lighting technology, and stable performance.
- The campaign is targeting 4K resolution at 60 frames per second with hardware-accelerated ray tracing support, while multiplayer is expected to run at up to 120 FPS, which should ensure a smoother and more precise online gaming experience.
- The destructible environment will play a significant role. Cover will no longer always be a safe haven, and players will have to change positions more frequently during firefights and adapt their tactics to the current situation.
- Karen Traviss, author of the popular Gears of War novels and a former war correspondent, is also collaborating on the story for Gears of War: E-Day. It is her experience reporting from armed conflicts that helps create a more realistic portrayal of war, allowing the game to focus not only on the fight against the Locusts but also on building the relationship between Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago at a time when their friendship is just undergoing its first major test.
Who Will Enjoy This Game: Fans of story-driven action shooters, intense atmospheres, and co-op, as well as players who want to experience the beginning of the legendary conflict without needing to be familiar with previous entries in the series. And, of course, fans of the series.
Who This Game Might Not Be For: Players who prefer open worlds, free exploration, dozens of side activities, and sandbox-style gameplay.
